Daring to Fail

Failing is difficult. But failing publicly is terrifying. And that’s what drew me to Kelly Robert’s story. For years, Kelly had been trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon, a goal that she shared openly with her large social media following. And after falling short year after year, it felt like this might be her last opportunity.

I was stoked when Kelly agreed to let me document her training runs in NYC and her qualifying race in Chicago. I admire her transparency, determination, and attitude in the face of a sport that signals she shouldn’t belong.
